The
Music
Shemekia
Copeland: “Hot and haunting, Copeland doesn’t
come across as an entertainer so much as a force of nature.
The sound of her rafter-rattling voice – a dark, thundering
alto – generates waves of energy and emotion. Impressive,
fresh and modern, she has poise to match her power, and
commands attention as few of her peers do.” –
Washington Post |
James
Cotton: "We're talking about the blues, loud
and fast and getting down dirty, we're talking about James
Cotton, a singer, stomper, and harp-player extraordinaire."
- New York Daily News |
James
Montgomery: Nominated for a W.C. Handy Award -
the highest honor in Blues - for his album "Bring It
On Home", which was also picked by the Boston Herald
as on of the "Year's 10 Best CDs". James also
received a Gold Record from Kid Rock and Uncle Kracker for
the work he did on Kracker's platinum selling "Double
Wide" CD. |
Rob
Gonzalez: If you took Ray Charles, Van Morrison,
Lyle Lovett and Jackson Brown and combined them into one,
you'd have the sound of this Jazz pianist. He has the ability
to slow things down and strike a chord deep in your past
like Jackson Brown, but he can do it with the enthusiasm
of Van Morrison or the soulfulness of Ray Charles. |
